I can offer treatment and advice at all stages of pregnancy and post natally. It is not normal to have pain as part of pregnancy and quite often it is treatable. I may need to liaise with your midwife and would ask that all pregnant ladies coming to see me bring their NHS handheld maternity notes.

LOWER BACK PAIN / SIJ (SACRO-ILIAC JOINT)

A common occurrence in pregnancy, but usually treatable with exercises and manual therapy techniques.

PELVIC PAIN

Pelvic Girdle Pain (PDP) previously known as SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction) is also a relatively common problem that can respond well to treatment. Occasionally a back support may be beneficial and I can advise on appropriate aids.

THORACIC / RIB PAIN

Rib flaring can cause discomfort around the torso. Exercises and manual therapy can help alleviate these symptoms.

FITNESS IN PREGNANCY

Either for those who already exercise regularly and are in need of advice regarding exercise in pregnancy or if you have not done any previously I can advise on suitable exercises and devise programmes to follow that are individual to your needs.

POST-NATAL

Low back pain and even pelvic pain can persist after baby has been born and your body will take time to recover. Looking after a new baby is hard enough without having to suffer with pain. It is treatable and with careful exercise prescription can be managed long-term to minimise recurrence.
Anna can also advise on pelvic floor recovery.

ABDOMINALS

Common questions I hear:
Will I ever get a flat tummy again?
– Of Course you can!
Those abdominals have been stretched and weakened but with careful exercise they can recover. As a regular gym user myself and fitness enthusiast, I can help to get you back to fitness, particularly for those who have injuries / complications.
